Draconian Rules for Attending "Special Convention"
by BluesBrother inbritish dubs are invited to attend a special convention next summer in dublin , irish republic.
o k, this kind of trip has been done many times before.
however i have never seen such a crude and rigid set of rules that would apply to their own people going on a trip, at their own expense of course.

"Special" this; "Special" that! Special is another word that the WTBTS is quickly wearing out. There isn't anything special about any event that the WTBTS puts together.
The JWs and their "Special Conventions" can kiss my ASH!

Question: So, do blood transfusions save lives? Indeed they do! And how thankful we all are for the high level of education that health providers receive that enables them to pull off miracle-like achievements such as this.
Katy could teach a JW a thing or two about the estimable value and benefits of blood transfusions and higher education.

Suicide - How many do you know within the JWs
by Lady Lee inthw wts likes to play games with their statistics.
one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?
if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.

I know of numerous suicides of JWs over the years. Two that come to mind: (1) A JW in our hall who hung himself. (2) A murder suicide a few years back in a local congregation. Recently, an attempted suicide by a close friend in our hall. This one was truly brought on by dumbass Elder neglect!
Just another day in Paradise!

Can we include those who have died as a result of not accepting a blood transfusion. If thats' not suicide what is? Wait! To JWs that might fall under the category of martyrdom or self-sacrifice.

WTBTS has the strong arm of a well educated WT legal department to fight against & beat down the defenseless and mistreated rank and file. The Roman Catholic Church has an even bigger legal department to hammer and thrash the lowly abused parishioner.
When are we, the flock, to get justice from you dear God ?

Vanderhoven7 asks: Is it possible to see this quote in context?
Question From Readers Watchtower 10/15/00 Pg 31 Par 6 & 7
For example, during certain surgical procedures, some blood may be diverted from the body in a process called hemodilution. The blood remaining in the patient is diluted. Later, his blood in the external circuit is directed back into him, thus bringing his blood count closer to normal. Similarly, blood that flows into a wound may be captured and filtered so that the red cells can be returned to the patient; this is called cell salvage. In a different process, blood may be directed to a machine that temporarily carries on a function normally handled by body organs (for example, the heart, lungs, or kidneys). The blood from the machine is then returned to the patient. In other procedures, blood is diverted to a separator (centrifuge) so that damaging or defective portions of it can be eliminated. Or the goal may be to isolate some of a blood component and apply that elsewhere on the body. There are also tests in which a quantity of blood is withdrawn in order to tag it or to mix it with medicine, whereupon it is put back into the patient.
The details may vary, and new procedures, treatments, and tests will certainly be developed. It is not our place to analyze each variation and render a decision. A Christian must decide for himself how his own blood will be handled inthecourseofasurgicalprocedure, medicaltest, orcurrenttherapy. Ahead of time, he should obtain from the doctor or technician the facts about what might be done with his blood during the procedure. Then he must decide according to what his conscience permits. (See box.)

Par 4: "Men often put material security ahead of spiritual pursuits. Getting higher education and securing a well-paying job are priorities for many of them."
So what is wrong with that?
Men of this sort have a good reason to think this way. Notice what 1Tim 5:8 expects from a spiritual man..."Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith."
Many Most Elders and Ministerial Servants can take a lesson from 'worldly' men on how best to provide for their family. I know many a 'worldly' man who has struck a good balance between spiritual and secular pursuits which includes spending quality time with their family in fun and recreation. Todays article paints men outside JW world as flaky and unbalanced when it comes to spiritual things when all along its' JW men themselves (Elders and MSs) that need help!
Thank you Blondie.

Par 2: "Today, men likewise show interest in the Scriptural message we preach and respond to it. (Matt. 5:3) However, many men hold back and fail to progress spiritually."
The reason many most men hold back and fail to "progress spiritually" is because they are turned off by the (1) unscriptural no-blood transfusion teaching; (2) the disfellowshipping and shunning practices; (3) the anti-higher education thinking; (4) the keep your children out of sports mentality; (5) the JW haughty and judgmental attitude and too numerous other anti this and anti that mindset of JW world.
Who in his right mind wouldn't hold back?
